This loyal group of alumni honors the memory of Samuel D. Leidesdorf,
who was chairman of the board of NYU Medical Center from 1956 to 1968,
and an honorary member of the School of Medicine Alumni Association.
More than any other, he foresaw the pressing need to build a tertiary
care hospital facility for the School of Medicine. Mr. Leidesdorf
led the fundraising campaign to establish University Hospital, now
Tisch Hospital, and immersed himself in a full spectrum of activities
to ensure his vision of a comprehensive "medical center campus" would
be transformed into reality. The following alumni, faculty and friends
have contributed $1,500 to $2,499 to the Alumni Campaign from September
1, 2003 to August 31, 2004.
