Eligibility
Upon entrance to the program, an applicant must be:
- Board Eligible or Certified in a Clinical Speciality
- An active participant in clinical investigation
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in New York State
How to Apply
- Complete the application form
- Return application with current curriculum vitae;
- Complete a 1-2 page essay describing:
- Your reasons for seeking advanced training in Clinical Investigation;
- Your career plans beyond fellowship;
- Trainees are expected to complete a research project as part of their training.
- Please describe ideas you have for your project
- Send two letters of evaluation: please give a copy of the enclosed reference form to the individuals writing your letters.
- One must be from your proposed research project mentor
- Send a letter of support from your Department/Division Director using the following director support letter. This letter verifies that your department will support your application and that you will have at least 75% of your time available for coursework and/or research during the two years of the program. It also verifies that your Department/Division will cover your tuition and overhead costs during the two years of the program, currently $10,000.
- These are examples of completed K23 applications, supplied by the NIH, that can serve as a template for further K23 applications by NYU junior faculty.
