NYU Cancer Institute Designated as a Fertile Hope
Center of Excellence

New York, November 4, 2005-- NYU Cancer Institute was recently designated as a new Fertile Hope Center of Excellence. Fertile Hope is a non-profit organization that assists cancer patients struggling with infertility, by offering financial support, encouragement, and information regarding fertility risks prior to treatment.

Dr. Steven Burakoff, Director of the NYU Cancer Institute, hopes that the collaboration with Fertile Hope will build on the collective strength of NYU Medical Center’s multi-disciplinary team of cancer and fertility experts. “NYU Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated Cancer Center, is proud to be recognized as a Fertile Hope Center of Excellence and is committed to the expansion of our efforts to educate patients and their families on the issues related to cancer and fertility,” Dr. Burakoff said. The Institute was honored at Fertile Hope’s annual fundraiser, Sweet November, held on November 3rd.
