Applications for the MD/PhD program
are on-line through AMCAS and MUST be complete
for review (see below). The MSTP at NYU is funded for US citizens
and permanent residents. In addition to the letters of recommendation
required by the medical school (http://www.med.nyu.edu/medicaldegree/admissions/apply.html),
the MSTP requires letters from your research mentors describing
your undergraduate research experiences and your potential as a
research scientist. All letters should be sent directly to the MSTP.
Please note, for your application to be complete, you MUST
email the MSTP with a list of faculty and research mentors from
whom we should expect letters. Include their daytime phone numbers
(including area code) and email addresses. Indicate which letters
should be forwarded to the medical school and which to the MSTP
office. During the admissions process, you may expect email notification
from the MSTP: 1) when we receive verification
from AMCAS of your application; 2) when your application
is complete and under review; and 3) when you are
either invited for interview or your application is forwarded to
the medical school admissions office for their review. Until such
time, your application remains under review by the MSTP. Interviews
begin in September and conclude in December with offers extended
in mid-February. Please refer to each of the websites for specific
instructions regarding the application process.
