The DOM's Inpatient PA (physician's assistant) Service at Bellevue Hospital was created in response to the need for compliance with Residency Review Committee limits on house staff work hours.

Three years has seen a near doubling of the size of the initial team of five physician's assistants (nine are now employed) in recognition of the high quality, efficient patient care which they provide entirely independent of the house staff. Currently staffed to admit patients six days a week, plans are underway to expand the service even more, enabling it to provide 24/7 coverage.

We have a group of talented and highly skilled PAs who are dedicated to both the patients they attend and to the Bellevue community. They have set high standards of care that will no doubt continue as their service expands to meet the ever-growing needs of Bellevue.

Medical supervision on the PA service is provided by a core of four attendings consisting of Michael Janjigian (its Medical Director), Michael Brabeck, Michael Locurcio, and Sein Than.
