Dr. Judith S. Hochman, the Harold Snyder Family Professor of Cardiology and Clinical Chief of Cardiology at NYU-Langone Medical Center, has received the prestigious 2008 Women in Cardiology Mentoring Award from the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association.
This award, initiated by the Women in Cardiology Committee, was designed to recognize individuals who have an outstanding record of effectively mentoring women cardiologists and to underscore the importance of mentoring in the professional development of women. Dr Hochman will receive this award at the annual AHA Scientific Sessions, to be held in New Orleans in November.
Dr. Hochman has mentored more than 30 trainees in clinical investigation, many of whom are currently independent clinical researchers in full-time academic positions. Moreover, she serves as co-Principal Investigator of NYU’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, which includes a major focus on training the next generation of clinician investigators.
