NYU School of Medicine is proud to celebrate the first graduates of the new Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation program. This first Masters degree conferred by the School of Medicine is the formal training in NYU’s Fellowship in Medicine and Public Health Research, funded by the CDC. The program prepares physicians for academic careers focusing on research involving disease prevention, health promotion, and preparedness in urban communities. These physician scientists are trained to bridge the gaps in research between clinical and population science. 

The Masters Degree and Fellowship programs are directed by Dr. Mark Schwartz and Dr. Marc Gourevitch is PI on the CDC grant.

The six graduates of the first class of the Fellowship and Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation are:

  • Dr. Maria Raven, Department of Emergency Medicine
