Nirav Shah, M.D., M.P.H.

Nirav Shah, MD, MPH, is taking on the new Divisional position of Associate Director for Research.

A core mission of the Division of General Internal Medicine is to advance research that improves health of individuals and populations cared for in urban healthcare delivery systems. The Division has been making real progress towards this goal, building its team of investigators with complimentary interests and expertise, growing its extramural research funding, and enhancing cross-disciplinary collaboration.

An effort on this scale requires dedicated attention, and in this new role Dr. Shah will focus on growing our capacity for and success in conducting research, including accessing and analyzing clinical and administrative datasets, developing shared resources, and developing mechanisms for internal review of funding applications. Dr. Shah will draw on his expertise as an investigator and his experience in several institutions in helping us grow this vital aspect of our mission.
