Joshua Lee MD MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, and Dept. of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine, New York University.  Dr Lee was an undergraduate at Princeton University (1994), received an M.D. from the University of Tennessee (1999), and a Masters in Science (Clinical Epidemiology) at Weill Graduate School of Medical Science, Cornell University (2005).  He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in primary care internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital and the NYU School of Medicine from 1999-2003.

Dr. Lee is an investigator and clinician within the School of Medicine and at Bellevue Hospital Center.  He works as an attending physician in the Bellevue Primary Care clinics and the Inpatient Chemical Dependency Unit (Detox), treating addiction disorders, particularly opioid and alcohol dependence.  His research focuses on novel treatments of addiction, including buprenorphine and extended-release naltrexone, criminal justice populations, and medical education surrounding substance use.  He is certified in Addiction Medicine and is also a per diem physician in the NYC jail system.
