
Joshua Lee, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine in the NYU Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) received the award for best oral presentation in the category of Innovations in Medical Education at the recent Society of General Internal Medicine annual meeting in Toronto.
The presentation described the controlled trial of the educational effectiveness of the Alcohol Module entitled Developing a Web-Based Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention Module. This project is a collaboration among the Research on Medical Education Outcomes (ROMEO) group of the DGIM, the NYU Division of Educational Informatics (DEI) Directed by Dr. Marc Triola, and the Physician Patient and Society Course, at the NYU School of Medicine Directed by Dr. Kathleen Hanley. This work also received acknowledgement as a platform presentation at this year’s national Association for Medical Education and Research on Substance Abuse (AMERSA).
