Werner Doyle is a nationally recognized epilepsy surgeon and is one of only a handful of surgeons in the world who have devoted their careers exclusively to epilepsy and seizure surgery. He is recognized as a leader and innovator in the surgical treatment of epilepsy considered by his peers as one of the busiest and best epilepsy surgeons in the United States. Over the last 15 years he has performed over 3300 epilepsy and seizure related surgeries in children and adults. He is also among the most experienced surgeons in the world performing vagus nerve stimulator implantations having accomplished over 675 of these operations. Surgical advances he has pioneered include more minimal cranial surgery with less invasive techniques using specially designed intracranial electrodes. He has developed computer navigational systems that improve surgery and permit less invasive surgery. His surgical outcome is recognized as among the best in the world with one of the lowest complication rates in the field. He has appeared in TV documentaries and in magazine articles and his surgical technique has been filmed for use to train other surgeons.
