Welcome to the Departments of Nursing at our Website! You are entering our world of nursing excellence in the NYU Langone Medical Center where we are major participants in creating a new world of outstanding patient care with a vision of becoming a world-class organization.

Nursing at NYU historically and currently has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality care by talented, well educated professional nurses and skillful support staff. Our culture for decades demonstrates a Magnet culture of excellence, and since 2005 we have officially been designated a Magnet hospital. That means that support and respect for nursing as a discipline is embedded and experienced throughout the clinical enterprise.

The many services and units described in this website are all "villages" of excellence in which the nursing staff (92% BSN) are supported by competent, qualified Nurse Managers, and most units with Assistant Nurse Managers or Clinical Coordinators. Our evening, night and weekend Nurse Administrators are supportive, problem-solvers, who help coordinate patient flow and guide interdisciplinary decisions. Our Nurse Educators are also highly competent and proficient teachers of nursing practice for nurses who range from novices to experts.

We focus intensely on life-long learning, evidence-based practice, and deliverance of high quality patient outcomes.
