- 12 weeks orientation with both clinical and classroom training taught by our Nursing Education Department. New graduates have a split session: 6 weeks followed by a 4-week buddy system with their preceptor focusing on less acute infants. Then, after 6-9 months of clinical practice, another 6 weeks of orientation and 4 weeks of buddy system caring for the critically ill Intubated and post surgical patients. This customized orientation process allows for a less stressful learning experience and enables the new nurse to develop her/his critical care thinking skills.
