RIRM 4 West - Musculoskeletal Unit
Nurse Manager: Piedad D. Angeles, MA, RN, CNA-BC
- The Musculoskeletal Unit has 19 beds – 8 semiprivate rooms and 3 private rooms.
- Primary patient population consists of adults and geriatrics who require physical rehabilitation , with the following conditions but not limited to:
- Total Hip Replacement/s
- Total Knee Replacement/s
- Fractures/ORIF
- Shoulder Replacement/s
- Spine surgeries
- Nursing focus is patient and family education, wound care management, pain management, evaluation/re-evaluation of patients’ progress in physical rehabilitation and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team. This is in addition to the nursing care provided to each patient based on their individual needs.
- Nursing Staff: The Nurses and the Nursing Attendants are all trained in the care of musculoskeletal and physical rehabilitation and patients in general.
- The Nurses are FIM certified.
- The Nursing Attendants are certified (CNA).
- Evidence-based practice patient care.
- Quality and Performance Improvement activities.
- Unit skin care and pain resource nurses.
