How many positions does your program offer?
For the entering intern class, there are seven categorical positions and one preliminary position
available.
What is your accreditation status?
We received full accreditation from the Residency Review Committee
during our last review.
What is your deadline?
November 1st.
Do you accept foreign medical graduates?
Yes.
How many letters of recommendation are needed?
In addition to the Dean's letter, three letters of recommendation
from faculty members must be submitted.
Are elective rotations available?
Yes, elective rotations lasting four weeks are available in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Women's Health Issues, Pelvic
Surgery and REI.
Is an elective rotation necessary for strong consideration
as an applicant?
No.
Are housestaff required to do research?
Yes, residents are required to participate in research during the course of their training. We have a research curriculum that commences intern year which outlines the time-line including an oral presentation during the third year at Residents' Honors Day.
What are your minimum scores for USMLE, step 1 &
2?
We do not have a minimum USMLE score requirement. Our program
is highly competitive and the entire application is reviewed thoroughly.
The USMLE Step 2 scores are not required at the time of the application
process, however, must be submitted once you are selected into
the program.
Are meals provided?
A food stipend is included in the salary.
Is subsidized housing available?
Subsidized housing is not offered. However, the Off Campus Housing
Assistance Program (OCHAP) office does provide help in apartment
searches.
When does your program start?
There is a one week orientation for all incoming interns that includes Bellevue, NYU Medical Center and department sessions. Orientation begins a week before the start of the academic year.
