Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory

At the core of the non-invasive imaging program, the NYU Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory offers all types of modern cardiac ultrasound, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography.

The outpatient echocardiography lab (Suite 9U) maintains a selection of children's videos for patients to entertain them during their echo, which enhances cooperation and vastly reduces the need for any sedation.

Close ties with the Charles and Rose Wohlstetter Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratories in the Department of Medicine allow coordinated and cooperative care of adults with congenital heart disease, and of pediatric patients requiring alternative imaging modalities such as nuclear imaging. In addition, we work closely with Pediatric Radiology in deciding optimal or alternative imaging modalities in selected cases. A modern MRI facility provides state-of-the-art cardiac imaging and analysis.
