Fellowship Training Program

The Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship is a three-year fully accredited program which encompasses both clinical and research training.

Goals
Proficiency to provide expert consultative services, to teach in the clinical arena, and to participate in clinical and laboratory investigation in this subspecialty.

Objectives
The acquisition of necessary knowledge, skills, and experience in clinical endocrinology, and research.

Clinical Experience
Clinical experience is gained from attendance at the Endocrine and Diabetic clinics, as well as responsibility for the care of children with endocrine disorders in the inpatient service both at Bellevue Hospital and Tisch Hospital.

Research
Training in laboratory techniques, knowledge of basic principles of competitive hormone assays, the performance of radioimmunoassay of hormones in blood and other fluids, and interpretation of laboratory results.

Lab
Experience with a variety of RIA's, chromatographic techniques, and others for assay of steroid hormones, HPLC and more.
