Recent Changes in the Program
In 2001 Dr William Carroll was recruited as Director of Pediatric Oncology and now heads the Hematology/Oncology program. Dr Carroll is known internationally for his laboratory research in high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)). He is Chair of the ALL disease committee of the Children's Oncology Group and is responsible for directing and developing clinical research in North America for children with ALL. The arrival of Dr Carroll and his Associates has given breadth to a program already known for expertise in stem cell transplantation.
Additionally Dr Jeffrey Allen who is a noted pediatric neuro-oncologist joined us in 2004. His expertise and patient population has added further breadth to a Faculty already well grounded in Hematology.
