Pediatric Residency Program

Pediatric Transport Program

The NYUMC Pediatric Transport Program transfers critically ill pediatric patients from outlying facilities to NYUMC.

In-house teams are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to allow a rapid response for medical transports.

Patients have been transported from over 50 hospitals and have presented with complex medical and surgical conditions such as traumatic injuries, neurological abnormalities, seizures, respiratory distress and cardiac abnormalities.

The transport team assembled includes personnel with expertise in respiratory therapy, pediatric critical care nursing, advance life support paramedics, in addition to the highest level physician staff as appropriate.

Patients are provided with the highest level of care from the beginning of the transport at the referring facility to their final destination, where they are cared for by physicians in a comprehensive network of sub-specialties.

The Pediatric Transport Team's ultimate goal is to provide children and their families the highest quality of care possible during critical situations.

The safety of the patients is our chief priority. NYUHC's strength in pediatric patient care allows us to provide the highest level of treatment to critically ill and injured children, in our ever-expanding and growing program.

The pediatric chief residents may be contacted directly, 24 hours per day, seven days a week, via pager at 917-616-1111.
