Advocacy Experience

Academic pediatricians seek to influence policies in health care delivery, clinical practice, research and education. Fellows gain experience in advocacy by working with faculty in areas important to child health.

Some of this work happens through involvement with national and local organizations and governmental agencies, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, the New York City and New York State Departments of Health, and the Reach Out and Read Coalition of New York.
