An important role for academic general pediatric faculty is management of clinical and training programs. Fellows participate directly in clinic management through attendance at a weekly clinic administrative meeting that sets the policies of the clinic, and through participating in the quality improvement process.

Fellows learn to write grants, as funding is a critical piece of program development. Fellows also are responsible for the supervision of residents and their schedules when they are in clinic.
