2008 Healthy Students, Healthy Communities Conference

The 2008 Healthy Students, Healthy Communities Conference sponsored by the Regional Perinatal Forum Committee on Education will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Farkas Auditorium at NYU Medical Center.

In 2003, the members of the MRF Committee on Education developed a goal to improve child health through school based education. Conceiving a health education partnership with the NYC Department of Education the committee aims to provide a "teach the teacher" initiative for their region of Manhattan and to create a health educator and school educator council.

The overall goals are to improve the broad health education and support for pre-teens and adolescents who are of preconception age afterall they are the future of our communities.

The committee believes that healthy students will lead to healhty communities. This year's conference focuses on the role of mental health in overall adolescent and community health.
