The Neonatology Educational Outreach Program, begun in 1992, provides staff with continuing education to retain cutting edge knowledge in Neonatology. The Program, funded by Neonatology, has a dedicated focus to lead educational outreach in the field.

Expanding these goals has led to the development of several outreach educational endeavors:

• to provide ongoing education for nurses and other NICU staff
  
  
• to provide funds to attend educational meetings
  
  
• to coordinate annual teaching to the large number of Neonatologists who reside in the Tristate area.

This type of dedication to education is exemplified in the development of the following collaborative programs:

• joint neonatal- obstetric grand rounds
  
  
• the annual Collaborative Teaching Conference, co sponsored with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital and Cornell Hospital Neonatology Programs
