Neonatology Program

Research Laboratory

Research LaboratoryThe Neonatology research laboratory's major area of research is on endothelial cell physiology, with specific investigations targeted at endothelial responses associated with the development of Retinopathy and Hypertension.

Retinal research involves both animal experiments as models of retinal disease, endothelial retinal cell culture and mouse embryonic stem cells. Studies on environmental factors associated with the development of hypertension have focused on identification of endothelial cell dysfunction in response to cocaine and hypoxia.

These studies utilize a variety of cell biology and molecular approaches in cultured human endothelial cells and Zebrafish.
