The Neonatal Comprehensive Continuing Care Program (NCCCP) is a multidisciplinary evaluation and early intervention program developed by the Neonatology Program to serve graduates of the NICU. Referrals to this program initiated in 1992 now come from as far away as China.
The program primarily was designed to serve families of the New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center Neonatology Program with the same family-centered supportive environment of parental education and psychological support to enhance the overall outcome of each infant. Infants are seen at 4-6 months and six months there after until 2 years of age. Families are then tracked yearly until the children enter kindergarten.
This creative program, interfaces with the NICU developmental care team but additionally provides a multidisciplinary assessment with Pediatric Neurology. Sensory evaluations are provided by the program through interaction with pediatric Ophthalmology and ENT. The program has received start up funds from KIDS of NYU and is coordinated by Ms. Kate Galanek and Ms. Victoria Palomino. The program is run administratively by Dr. Karen D. Hendricks-Munoz. The Medical Director is Dr. Randi S. Wasserman.
