House Staff Responsibilities

In-Patient Services
Educational goals and objectives for rotations through the general in-patient services
Perinatal Services
Objectives for rotations through the delivery room and neonatal services
Ambulatory Services
Primary preventive, episodic care, assessment, treatment and referral for healthy children as well as those who have acute or chronic illness
Emergency Services
Initial evaluation and treatment of acute and/or potentially life-threatening medical, surgical or psychiatric conditions
Continuity of Care Experience
Providing an ongoing opportunity for all residents to function as primary care physicians for families
Community Experience
A variety of outside experiences including community pediatrics, public health and child advocacy interspersed throughout three years of training
Teaching Conferences
A comprehensive core curriculum in primary, secondary, and tertiary care pediatrics
Research Experience
An introduction to research methodology and direct experience with a clinical or bench project
