FacultyHerbert M. Lazarus, M.D.
Herbert Lazarus, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics, is board certified both in General Pediatrics and in the subspecialty of Pediatric Rheumatology. He has been on faculty at NYU since 1988 after completion of his rheumatology fellowship. He has taken over the administration of the out-patient Pediatric Rheumatology clinics at Bellevue Hospital, and provides inpatient and outpatient consultative services at both Bellevue and NYU. Dr. Lazarus works in conjunction with the NYU Rheumatology Medicine service overseeing the rheumatology fellow's pediatric experience. He provides outpatient consultations and follow-up at either his Manhattan or Westchester offices.
Maura Hartnett, R.N.
Maura Hartnett has been a nurse at Bellevue Hospital Center for nearly thirty years, and she has spent much of that time committed to the outpatient pediatric subspecialty clinics. She is intimately involved in the day-to-day management of the Pediatric Rheumatology service, providing insight into the nuances of these rheumatologic conditions and imparting psychosocial support for the child and his family.
