This specialized interdisciplinary team includes a physiatrist, orthopedist, neurologist, neurosurgeon, physical and occupational therapists, nurse practitioner, and social worker, as well as the family. The members of this team are experts in the evaluation and management of spasticity. The purpose of this team is to evaluate the child as a whole and devise an individual treatment plan with short and long-term goals. Recommended interventions may include oral medications, botox, serial casting, braces, Itrathecal baclofen pump, rhizotomy, orthopedic surgery, adaptive equipment, and/or physical/occupational/speech therapy. The family members make up the key portion of the team.
