Victoria Young works with patients and families to schedule presurgical examinations, x-rays, tests, and follow-up appointments. Vicki has been the office coordinator since the Division was formed in 1980. She maintains a close relationship with the patients and their families and is an invaluable liaison between the families and the staff.

Tracy McTiernan joined the NYU Division of Pediatric Surgery in 1999 after 10 years as an assistant head nurse in the NYU Tisch Hospital operating room. Tracy coordinates preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care for pediatric inpatient and outpatient surgery and teaches patients, families and staff about pediatric surgical diagnosis and treatment.

Theresa provides expertise in billing problems and aids families in making sense of the complex billing issues they face in the complicated world of managed care. She has been with the office since 1998 and is a comforting presence for parents who are more concerned about the welfare of their child than the intricacies of insurance issues.

Reema is an important assistant who provides a multitude of services. She is often the one who answers the telephone and attempts to solve logistic problems and ameliorate the concerns of parents.
Surgery Residents and Medical Students
Two general surgery residents, one fourth-year and one second-year, aid in day-to-day patient care and assist with most surgeries.
In addition, one to two NYU medical students, and often visiting medical students from other institutions, fulfill a pediatric surgery rotation as part of their core surgery clerkship.
