Article Published on Obese Pediatric Patient Outcomes
The Division of Pediatric Surgery in conjunction with the NYU Program for Surgical Weight Loss recently published an article entitled "Short-term Results in 53 US Obese Pediatric Patients Treated with Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding" in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, January 2007. These are the first results of their kind published in the United States.
Articles Published on Laparoscopic Neo-os Creation; Familial Dysautonomia
The Division of Pediatric Surgery has two other articles accepted for publication in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. One entitled "Laparoscopic Neo-os Creation in an Adolescent with Uterus Didelphys and Obstructed Hemivagina" was published in October 2006 and the other "A Reinforced Suture Line Prevents Recurrence after Fundoplication in Patients with Familial Dysautonomia" will be published in the spring of 2007.
Upcoming Basic Science Research Presentations
Dr. Evan Nadler will be presenting his basic science research at the second annual Academic Surgical Congress in February 2007 and at the American Pediatric Surgery Association meeting in May 2007.
Nurse Practitioner Named Chairperson
Tracy McTiernan was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association as Chairperson of Education for a two-year term ending in May 2008.
